My goats have lesions on their mouths and noses — five animals affected so far. I don't want to post this publicly because of the auction next week. What is this and what do I do?

This looks like contagious ecthyma (orf) based on the photo. It's a viral disease — relatively common, usually self-limiting in adult animals but can be more serious in kids. Action: isolate affected goats from the herd immediately, do not move them to the auction, contact the DVS office in Eenhana for confirmation and movement advice. Per the DVS notifiable disease list, orf outbreaks should be reported. Most herds clear in 4–6 weeks. I'll keep this thread private to officers per your request.
